Moorsel is a district of Aalst and lies in the Dender region.
Local attractions are the water castle which dates from 1520, and is still inhabited. There is also the Sint-Gudula chapel, which is a reminder of the Moorselse legend of Saint Gudula.
For bike rides, this is the perfect location. It is close to the “Leirekensroute”. This is mainly on the former rail link Londerzeel-Aalst. On the route you can regularly find a resting bench, a picnic area, and of course cozy taverns where you can enjoy a nice treat.
Walking enthusiast have come to the right place. Through the faluintjesstreek you can go to the Kravaalbos. The hike starts and ends at the water castle of Moorsel.
Fifteen kilometers further you can find Buggenhoutbos. The domain is 190 acres. It’s a perfect environment to walk, cycle or exercise under the impressive oak trees and is also the perfect destination for relaxing and sports for young and old.
Aalst en Dendermonde are within a 15 minute drive. Both have a rich cultural heritage and are also pleasant shopping towns where events are regularly planned.
In Moorsel, you can also enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner at “De Biek” or at “I Mafiosi” for Italian dishes and pizzas. Reservations can always be made through me or directly with the restaurant.
